First off, Does anyone know if Mike Smith is possibly making these in mass and selling them to AMS and just putting their name on them? I doubt it, but this does happen alot in any industry. I am kinda surprised Mike hasnt posted yet.
I have seen this happen alot with companies. They re label the product and sell in mass to a supplier/vendor and put whatever name you want on them. If I was making a particular product (manifolds) and say SPL wanted to but a couple hundred sets for $700 ea., Id put "George Bush" on each set if that is what they wanted. Especially since im sure they will probably pay for most up front.
That being said, We need someone to do flow tests on a set of AMS and MS directly. That will be the tale of the tape. I, in no way, am siding with Z1 or AMS, nor do I feel that what they are doing is "ethical," but, copying and making products that are direct competition is the way of the world. Still a bad deal and if I was MS, Id be pissed, unless of course, he did give "the nod" to AMS. Again, I doubt he did...
It takes a lot of trial and error, expertise, blood, sweat, patience and tears, not including big $$ to produce a product. It takes nothing but a $ sign and greed to copy and sell.
Keep in mind the knockoffs are %99 always inferior and cheaply manufactured. Sorry for the rant...
